Fundraising Stories Don't Have to Suck

I've spent almost 15 years working in higher education advancement, and I've been donating to nonprofit organizations for much longer than that. A common challenge for these entities, whether I work for them or give to them, whether they employ 10,000 people or have a shoestring budget, is finding and sharing good stories. Stories are the foundational building blocks of all kinds of communications, be they emails, annual reports, or talking points for gift officers. But too often they're an afterthought, and the end result is a slapped-together-at-the-last minute product that doesn't get results.

While I can't claim that I've completely solved this problem, I've done research and worked in the trenches to start making some headway. I shared what I've learned thus far in this post for Donor Relations Guru. Check it out!
